Three generations of hearing care

The hearing-care work in our family started with Marvin Posey's clinical practice in California's Central Valley in the 1950s. His grandson, our co-founder Mark Moore, and Mark's wife Kim opened their own practice outside Posey's chain in 1989. By the 2000s, the family had grown Moore Family Hearing into more than 70 clinics across California and Florida. Twenty of those clinics were sold to Widex (Helix/Bloom) in 2016, with $50M+ in cumulative exits across three decades.

Today, the third generation, Matthew Moore, leads OTCHealth Inc. The clinical years taught the family what's actually wrong with the traditional hearing-aid system: it's too expensive, too gated by appointments, and built around the clinic rather than the customer. OTCHealth is the direct-to-consumer answer to that.

What we sell

OTCHealth offers three connected product lines:

• HearingAssist, over-the-counter hearing aids, originally sold at Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, Target, and Rite Aid since 2008. The brand was acquired by InnerScope Hearing Technologies in November 2021 and is now sold direct through OTCHealthMart.com.
• iHEAR, the Bluetooth-enabled OTC hearing aid line, including the iHEAR Matrix. Engineered in Roseville, California.
• iHEAR TReO, a personal sound amplifier (PSAP) for recreational use, theater, birding, hunting, and other situational listening. Not a hearing aid; not intended to treat hearing loss.
